It'll debut first at Goodwood, before hitting showrooms at some point in 2025

Honda has confirmed its next-generation Prelude hybrid will be coming to the UK

Following the announcement last winter, Honda has confirmed that the reimagined hybrid Prelude coupe will be available in the UK.

Initially expected to be an all-electric vehicle, Honda revealed that the new Prelude will be a hybrid, incorporating an internal combustion engine. It's likely to feature an upgraded version of the Civic hybrid’s 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, known as the ‘e:HEV’.

While detailed specifications are still under wraps, the Prelude is expected to produce around 200bhp, powering the front wheels. This may disappoint fans hoping for a rear-wheel-drive successor to the S2000.

However, there is still hope for a high-performance Type R version. Honda has emphasized the Prelude’s commitment to delivering the ‘joy of driving,’ suggesting the possibility of a 300bhp+ model with a six-speed manual transmission. Until then, enthusiasts will have to wait for further announcements.
