The Honda Civic Type R has retained its title as Hot Hatch of the Year at the 2024 Auto Express New Car Awards, while the Honda Civic e:HEV was highly commended in the Affordable Hybrid Car of the Year, and Family Car of the Year category.

The Type R, now in its sixth generation, has been refined and engineered to deliver the most exhilarating Civic Type R performance to date. Defending the Hot Hatch of the Year title further reinforces the Type R as the ultimate hot hatch, and a testament to Honda’s racing DNA.

In its 11th generation, the Civic e: HEV which was commended at the awards, launched as part of the vehicle’s 50th year anniversary celebrations in 2022. The Civic e:HEV is a dynamic, self-charging, full hybrid hatchback, that has evolved in both comfort and drivability and continues to champion a sporty design with a dynamic, electrified powertrain.

The Auto Express New Car Awards highlight the best in the business across 25 categories.
